Fans of the Archie Universe and Horror REJOICE! With the success of Archie Afterlife we have been given the gift of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. This is not the girl you read about as a kid, nor is she the sweet teenager Melissa Joan Hart portrayed on T.V. Get ready for a dark roller coaster with this new version of Sabrina!
REVIEW:
My roommates brought home Chilling Adventures of Sabrina last night and I was SO excited. Jumping up and Down excited!!!!
I loved Archie and the gang growing up as a kid and was a big Sabrina fan. A horror version of the series had me over the moon!
And boy is this a darker version of Sabrina. Gone is the sweet innocent use of magic and navigating the world of mortal teenagers. Sabrina's father flat out worships Satan, Hilda ad Zelda are creepy as all get out (and right in the beginning wanted to kill Sabrina's mom) and Sabrina casts spells to win Harvey's affections.
I love the new setting in the 1960's and the similarities at times to some of my favorite classic films.
The artwork is BEAUTIFUL and the alternate cover is absolutely fabulous with a great nod to one of my all time favorite horror books and films, Rosemary's baby. (See Below)
I highly recommend this one for any Archie/Sabrina/Josie and the Pussycats fans looking for something new and different to read or Horror fans looking to get into comic books.
