Alexander Days

Do you ever have those days?

You know the ones I'm talking about right? Those Alexander days.
Those Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Days?
Those days that from the moment your feet hit the floor were just, well, awful?
When those days happen I tend to get down on myself. I take everything anyone says as a criticism or slight against me. In my own mind I can do nothing right.
On those days sometimes i just want to crawl back under the covers and ignore the world.

But guess what?
That wont make the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Badness Away!

So What do you do on those days?

Here's what is important to remember:

And they don't just happen to you!
Everybody has those days sometimes. Where they wake up and everything is terrible, horrible no good and very bad.

On those days it sometimes seems like there is nobody on your side. But that's not true!
Find someone to talk to or hang out with. It can be a friend, or a pen pal, or a family member.
It may be hard to do, but it helps.

For some reason a hot drink sometimes helps sooths all the hurt.
Make a cup of tea, or hot chocolate, or apple cider.
Savor your drink in quiet and think of all the positives that you had in the days before.

Cuddle a pet. They always love you. Even on the bad days.
If you dont have a pet cuddle a stuffed animal (they always love you too!)

Read a good book or watch a funny movie. Sometimes getting out of your head is all you need!
Maybe pick up a picture book you haven't read in ages.

And you have to keep these 2 things in mind:

You can't have a rainbow without rain right? We need the bad to see how good the good is!
So ride the storm, tomorrow is another day.

AND

Doesn't matter where you go. Problems and bad days are everywhere. You can't outrun them.
Even if you run all the way to Australia.

Why not listen to a great picture book to get you feeling better?

HOLD ON.
TOMORROW MIGHT BE A
WONDERFUL, FABULOUS TOTALLY ROCKING GREAT DAY!
